Stay with me.

“He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.” -Psalm 91:4

A couple weeks ago I felt like God was telling me that he can provide more than a job. & the day after I wrote it in my journal, our bookings with photography literally took off over night.

That’s the short story.

In the longer story, I had been struggling with the thought of going back to work for a while. As much as I loved staying at home, our incoming flow of money was the kind that brings you paycheck to paycheck & our bills were actually increasing since I was going to have to pay for insurance for the first time, as well as we were about to take on bills of my husbands that his parents had been so gracious to help us with for so long.

So when I felt like God wanted me to really grasp the whole idea that a 9-5 job wasn’t better than him nor his abilities, it was a breakthrough of sorts.

Then for him to show me his storehouses with the snap of his fingers, three bookings within an hour, I was in awe.

& here’s the deal. April’s bookings filled up in time for April. May’s bookings are filling up in time for May. But isn’t that perfect?

Because he is faithfully carrying out what he’s promised, giving us our daily bread.
No more, no less.

Just like the Israelites wandering through the desert, when he gave them manna every morning & told them that it would be their portions. He specifically told them not to try to save the leftovers, because they would rot before morning.

He provides, day by day. He doesn’t jump ahead with our minds when we’re worrying about the future. He remains here, beside us, waiting for us to come back to the moment where his hands are filled with todays portions.

This is enough for today, He says. I’ll provide for tomorrow when tomorrow comes. Just stay with me in today. Remain in me.

When we learn this. When we accept this idea, that if we simply take his hand & walk with him through today, & that tomorrow will take care of itself apart from our worry or jumping ahead of his plan. There is freedom, love. There is rest.

He has provided for me in March, he is providing for me in April, & he will provide for me in May. He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His promises will be our armor & protection.

He will provide. Just stay with him. Remain in him.
