For Good

I struggle with control. I don’t really know many people who don’t. I worry about how my life will turn out as a single mom and how that upbringing will affect my son. I worry about my future and my son’s future. I want to be happy and for him to have the best life. I could go on and on about all the small details of things I wish that I could grab control of and I replay these in my head everyday.

Today I stopped.

I broke down and realized I am a tiny human that belongs to an enormously grace filled God who has not forgotten me, who knows my future and wants to bless me, His child.

Isaiah 43:1 says “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.”  Let’s stop and think about that for a moment. The Creator of the ENTIRE UNIVERSE knows each of our names. Beyond that, He claims us as His own children.

Let’s make this already amazing fact even MORE amazing

2 Samuel 22:31, “As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the Lord is flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in him.”

God is perfection. God knows our names and everything about us.

Romans 8:28 “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”

Our futures are being handled by our Father who is perfection and who intimately knows us and loves us. How can we ever worry about anything if our Savior works everything out for good? FOR GOOD. This doesn’t mean we won’t face trials and it certainly doesn’t mean we will skate through life without pain.  It means that through those difficult times, God still has our best interest in mind.
Hebrews 6:15 “And so after waiting patiently, Abraham received what he was promised.”

God LOVES to bless His children. He is our perfect Father who plans an abundant, beautiful life for each one of us.  I know that I must let go of my desperate love of control and surrender my earthly plans to my Father’s perfect

Take time to relish in this beautiful idea today. Realize you are loved deeply and that our God always has your best interest in mind.
